How to Hatch Pets
Pets are one of the biggest additions to Carpet Cleaning Simulator during Early Access. These companions scrub alongside you, passively increasing cleaning speed and cash generation. Hatching your first pet early creates compound gains that make rebirth grinding significantly smoother.
1 Finding Egg Stations
After completing introductory jobs at Scrubby's Carpet Cleaning, explore the hub area for pet egg machines or hatchery zones marked with paw icons. Egg stations typically unlock once you reach a low level threshold and finish your first bedroom or living room contract. Interact with the machine to view available egg tiers — basic eggs cost less but hatch common pets, while premium eggs require more cash or event currency.
Some codes like PETCLEANERS reportedly grant free eggs when redemption is active. Check our codes page before spending hard-earned cash on your first hatch.
2 Hatching Process
Select an egg tier and confirm purchase. A short animation plays, then your new pet appears in inventory. Equip pets from the pet menu — most builds allow multiple slots at higher levels. Equipped pets follow your character inside job instances and apply passive cleaning bonuses to nearby dirty tiles. Higher rarity pets multiply these bonuses substantially.
Duplicate pets may convert to shards or upgrade materials depending on version. Do not discard low-tier pets immediately; some players use them for fusion or trade fodder until tier lists stabilize.
3 Optimal Hatching Strategy
Early game: hatch whatever basic egg you can afford after buying your first vacuum upgrade. Mid game: save for mid-tier eggs when our pet tier list marks a clear power spike. Late game: target event eggs during Backrooms or seasonal updates for exclusive abilities listed on the pet abilities page.
Combine pet bonuses with gear from our best loadouts guide to maximize cash per minute before rebirth.
4 Common Hatching Mistakes
New players often hatch repeatedly before upgrading base gear, which slows job completion more than pets compensate. Balance spending between gear and pets at roughly a 70/30 ratio until level 30. Another mistake is ignoring pet ability types — a cash bonus pet helps farming, while a speed pet helps daily challenges with tight timers on our daily challenges page.
